Default Using the Cobb VF39 map with a VF43

I am looking at putting a VF43 on my 05 WRX and running the Cobb OTS VF39 map. I have searched on this and get all sorts of answers-some people say it will work fine, some say it won't, etc etc... I'd just like some feedback from people who have actually run their cars with this map and a VF43.

How long did you use the OTS map before you got a protune (or are you still using it)? Any issues at all with the car--running smoothly/etc? Any other info you'd find to be helpful to someone wanting to do the same setup?

Of course I have all the supporting mods--UP/TBE, DW C-Spec 565s, Walbro, STI TMIC. I have access to a VF39 WG actuator if using that would make a difference in how it ran with the map. I plan to use the OTS map for a few months until I get protuned....

Thanks in advance

When are you getting protuned?

Call your tuner and have them customize a map for you so that you can get to their shop to get tuned.

The OTS map sucks anyways so I wouldn't and DIDN'T run it on my car. I upgraded to the VF43 turbo and had Jorge from P&L customize a map for me so that I could get to work for about a week until I could get tuned. I still didn't boost (and I think the boost was limited also anyways)

Again - DO NOT just run the Cobb OTS Map (VF39 map) it's not worth the problems it MAY cause.

agreed with asking the tuner for a base map to run off of, the main concern is the injectors i believe...
i ran no boost until my tune as well

It matters now what we say, it matters what Cobb says, ask them. And no I'm not kidding even a little bit....call them. Bob Internetuser will not buy you a new motor when he leads you down the path of destruction, you might want to rely on the manufacturer more than some yahoo on the internet.
