Man... I guess I never really thought of my car as rare. We have Van Bortel Subaru as one of our local dealers. It is also the country's largest dealer. There are TONS of subies running around these parts.
I like the RS because it has a high *potential* performance factor and relatively low frills. Good bang for you buck ya know...

Aquair: You got me good!
It's amazing what an extra '0' can do. "Honest officer, I thought I was going 20, not 200mph." *note* I orginally typed 2,000 instead of 200. See what happens when you stay on the list too long! Sooberman! |

I'd say the 10,000 is probably a low number considering how fast they're selling them. I believe the total Impreza sales have been around 20,000/year recently, and the WRX seems to be representing about half of all Impreza sales right now. But Impreza sales overall have skyrocketed, all models, because of it. I think the total Impreza sales will be 30,000-40,000 this year with a shortage of WRX's coming up pretty fast (within the next two months). I've already seen at least 40 WRX's come and go just at the closest dealer. And it's one of the smaller dealers in this area. Of course, Subaru sales are a little higher in Minnesota than average, but still.

Huh.
I guess I'm a 'Johnny come lately' - I drove an impreza in GT and looked into the real thing. I was planning on buying an RS last summer untill I hit the net and discovered the WRX. Part of the allure was and still is the uniqueness of the car, I don't think Subarus are going to become as common as Honda/Acura, not for a long time anyway. |
