Default 245/45R17 on 17x8"

I got 4 new 245/45R17 Kumho Ecsta XS from my brother because he sold the car he bought them for. So I have them sitting in my garage waiting to be put on the car. I'm on stock 17x8s and would like to know if these will fit with no rubbing, too much side wall flex, or are they just too wide. Would you recommend an alignment if mounted? Other advice?

Those should fit fine. I have 245/40 on my wrx and the Sti wheel wells are larger than mine. You may need a new alignment though because of the side wall height. 45 looks a bit tall.

again...no as in not

the reason to get an alignment is getting a PERFORMANCE alignment

and a 'totally stock' sti has a REAL **** alignment as the factory alignment is always ****

Default good to go

245/45/17 on 17x8 stock BBS on 2005 STi

No problems. Fenders are stock, not rolled. Suspension is stock, not lowered.

How should I know the appropriate PSI to put in the fronts and rears? 245/45R17 Kumho Ecsta XS. Any ideas or recommendations?

On the stock re070's 225/45R17 it is front:35psi rear:29psi

The tires will fit the wheels just fine, but the overall diameter will be bigger than stock. The '94-03 Mustangs came with 245/45s on 17x8s for years, and there are other OEM applications of the same fitment.

As for pressure recommendations I would start with both ends the same at like 35 or 38psi, something like that. A lot of it is personal taste - higher pressure will stiffen the sidewall to an extent and improve steering response, but it also firms up the ride a bit.
