Default Feedback on iPhone (or similar) track data apps?

Is anyone using any of these apps at the track yet? I found this one:
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1767748

Please provide any feedback you might have. I may be getting a new phone in the next week or so. I think that running something like this would help me justify the cost of going smartphone.

Also curious what else is available. I know that one of the track data systems could be run off a Palm (MaxQ?). Wondering if that could be used easily with the Pre.

IMO the refresh rate for the GPS on the iPhone is too slow for serious data acquisation, but it would still be a LOT of fun to play around with and i'd probably get it anyway if i had a smartphone. I don't know much about the other logging capabilities in that software.

I'm thinking about making my own system that works with a netbook or laptop. 5 hz differential GPS receivers are pretty darn cheap and I think i can work with the raw data to show some cool stuff.

Obviously these won't do serious data aquisition but will they give you accurate lap times?

Ditto that ^^^ Q?

Plus, if it is using the vehicle speed from the OBDII, accelerometer, etc. can the data be reasonably reliable even w/out super awesome GPS?

I'm mostly interested in ]lap times and doing some logging without having a laptop sitting in the car with me. What does the accurate GPS get you anyway? Fine enough resolution to get a feel for corner entrance, exit, and apex location?

The better GPS systems give accuracy better than 3 meters and update 5 times per second, so all provided info should be pretty darn good. Standard GPS is 15 meter accuracy and most update once per second.
