FP RED Turbo 400whp/400wtq EJ257 Hybrid Engine

If some of you recall I had this setup tuned last month on a TMIC and there were a couple other problems with the engine still. well all the engine problems were sorted out and a FMIC was added in addition. Got retuned today on 93 octane at 20psi. Was tuned on stock ecu on their mustang dyno.

EJ257 block with EJ20 heads
CP Pistons
Cosworth high pressure/volume oil pump
ARP Head Studs
Brian Crower 272/272 Cams
Brian Crower Valve Springs & Retainers
FP RED 8cm
850cc fuel injectors
Turbo XS catless tbe
Turbo XS front mount intercooler
TGVs Deleted
Perrin short ram intake
ACT street clutch

Running it in 3rd gear full boost hits at 4100rpm.

Overall I'm very glad I switched to a FMIC, car runs way better with it. What is that you said? Lag?

Barely noticeable only a 100rpm difference it made.

WOW I am impress with the spool on pump gas. Why are you only reving to 6500 RPM? Are the heads ported and polish?

Nice setup.

I have BC 272 Cams and ported and polish heads with a VF39

heads aren't p&p, not sure why dyno run is to 6500 rpm but the engine revs to 7200 rpm

I've been following your car for awhile through the last setup and this (I'm still on my cammed 20G hybrid), and wow. I'm actually selling my Spearco as we speak for a FMIC, and have considered the Red for a very, very long time. Weird.

Awesome numbers, and spool looks f'in incredible! Not to mention that torque.

Seems stout - I can't wait to do mine. What's a stock STi typically make on this dyno? What compression are you running?

I drove a buddies FP red car last week...honestly lag is for *****'s. The car hauls ass, as I can imagine this one does!

I dunno what the compression is but the pistons are just standard bore and I'm using EJ257 head gaskets, so whatever that compression is

. Stock STi on that dyno is typically 220-225whp...

That's right really is no lag... if your complaining about lag then your in the wrong gear

!

I already have plans to run meth towards the end of the summer, the turbo isnt at its potential running 20psi. Just have to save up again lol.

This graph is ~19psi
The dip up high has been tuned out but don't have the graph handy.
Blue line is a standard 06STi on this dyno

yea this is really similar to my setup as well, i made 412 whp on a dynapack. im not running cams though. good work, now hit up the track and lets see some traps so i can compare! .... mike

yeah with more subarus with 272/272 cams on their FP greens and reds, and other turbos, we're starting to see EVO like #'s finally

19psi that Red is barely breathing.

wish you had 8-9k redline so that turbo is actually put to use.

390-400whp is what id expect on 93 octane if im seeing hbspeed tuned gt35r on pump gettin those #'s on 91 octane CA

and 492whp on c16 race gas
