Default What are up with these brands???

I've been seeing some brands that I have never heard of or barely heard of, does anybody know anything about these brands:

Triangle
Rotalla
Westlake
Sunny
Goodride
Wanli
Cooper

I found tires at tires-easy.com for interesting prices, tempting for cheap throw away tires.

Here's an article on why these brands are very cheap and that they may not be as bad as we think they are:

http://www.manufacturing.net/News-US...ese-Tires.aspx

The other idea that I have seen is that they may use more natural rubber than american companies, who knows.

Cooper is a somewhat well known American brand, look them up.

As for the rest of those brands, they are cheap because they are only good for driving straight.

I see nothing in that article that has anything to do with car tires, though if the situation is the same with car tires as with the agricultural/specialty tires theyr'e talking about in the article then I see a lot that makes me not want to buy any Chinese tires.

Not really, the only way we really know if the tires are going to be any good is if they are tested, which they aren't. Anybody willing to be a guenea pig?

Actually, I was thinking about trying some of them myself, since they are so cheap. Not sure yet, I'd love to get myself some Falken Azenis.

sunny is owned by wanli. i believe sunny is the performance class for the wanli tires company. The sunny tires generally have TOYO like treads and cause about 80& less but you also get less grip (varies per model compare).

Cooper is some subsidiary of an american company but i can not remember right now.

It seems that Wanli and Sunny might be ok to try, not sure about the others, I hear that Wanli is a major tire manufacturer in China, I just can't find anything on any of the others on the net.

BTW, what Toyo treads do the sunny tires resemble?

Cooper seems like a for sure thing, I'll definitely have to try them.

different sunny sizes resemble different toyo models. kind weird. :-\

There is someone who always posts in the sf bay area craigslist about it. He requires you to meet up at some location though. Apparently not a shop location. o_O

some of those cheaper companies (not necessarily those) are owned by bigger named companys in order to reach out to everyone.

I think I'll probably end up getting Federal SS595 tires, they are cheap but a lot of people have been saying decent things about them and you can get them cheap.
