Thumbs up What's up with V710 prices lately??

All of the TireRack ads in Grassroots, Car & Driver, etc. have shown the following prices for the last like 4 issues (just for example)--

Magazine Ad--

205/50-15 $186
225/50-15 $190
225/50-16 $213
245/45-16 $218

But on the website checked today---

205/50-15 $150
225/50-15 $156
225/50-16 $173
245/45-16 $169 (Special)

None are on "special", and there are no rebates that I am aware of. I have not seen V710's this cheap since they came out in 2005, even checking old issues of magazines from '05-'07 they are the cheapest they've ever been.....petroleum cost adjustments? Lack of sales so price drop? Switching to all squared shoulders? Any other speculation?

As long as it stays that way, I guess WHO CARES???

They are probably getting old.

If anyone buys a set, check the DOT # and report back.

Maybe the advent of their new non-rounded shoulder design? Or like Crawdads said they are getting older.

Looks like the XS prices are way down also---

Maybe an across-the-board price decrease?

All of the tires are cheaper online then in GRM. Yoko's, Dunlops, Kumhos to name a few.

I picked up The last two 245/45/16 before they went to back order status.

I'll check the date stamp later and let you guys know.

I think it's the "we have way to many of these silly sizes in our warehouse, and probably need to reduce inventory price."

Nice, Tom! That size is brand-new, just came to the USA around the week of Solo Nationals so they should be Jan 2008 or newer (based on the dates I saw on the Kumho truck). Should be great for the WRX!!

I want to run that size on the front of the Legacy, I think it will barely fit...the 245 Hoosier A6 fits, but not in the rear.

Just another theory.... Not having to fund programs in ALMS and SCCA could allow Kumho to lower its prices.

STX for 2013?

one of the shops in the back of GRM, had 235/45/17 Kumho MX'es for $80 per tire.

I just paid $132 for Xs'es. Not sure if they are $50 better per tire.

It looks like StarSpecs are cheaper now too. I could've sworn 245/40/17 was like 160 a couple of weeks ago... priced at 152 now. I think I paid that for mine last summer. Cool! .. that's a savings that's roughly equal to a box of 9mm ammo per tire
