It is NOT a rumor. It is true.

MY2011 according to SNE Rep. So it won't be for at least a year.

Why do you need to keep bringing this up. It's a pointless argument. I thought it was pointless when the STI was only offered as a sedan and the sedan crew would say sedan>5 door to the wagon fans who lamented not having a 5 door, even though I'm more of a sedan guy.

The fact is some of us prefer the sedan (and I'm not talking about a fastback 5 door here, I'm talking about the current sedan vs. the current 5 door). It's not better or worse, it's just different. Get over yourself, and allow those of us who are hoping this rumor is true to enjoy this.

Moving on: Personally I hope the front end get's a minor refresh to make it look more agressive. Otherwise, I'm hoping it looks like the current sedan but with the flares of the 5 door (I could do without the downward kink in the rear quarter window, but that's a minor gripe). Maybe a minor refresh to the interior to make the doors a bit more interesting as well...more like the current Forester. A slight bump in power would be nice, as would DI, but neither would be necessary for me. There are a few coupe's I'm looking at to replace my WRX in a couple years, but the truth is with 4 kids the extra doors may end up being a necessity for me. If this sedan happens it would quickly move to the top of my list.

I have heard this from an SNE rep at a training as well. I believe this is true, but I doubt we will hear anything for a bit.

Why is everyone so obsessed with DI? From what I can discern, it will be a pain for tuners.

A rumor that will morph into fact when the 2011 STIs are announced.

Also, 2011 is the year the current-generation Impreza (all of them) will get a mid-life refresh. That being the case, I bet that's we see the CVT and 6-speed manuals offered as well.

More power (stock against stock) plus better MPG. The tuners will eventually catch up.

Our manager told us when he got back from the meeting in D.C. where they even showed a pic of the sedan(4 door in SOA speak). He was saying in the quick look they got that the flares looked more pronounced. Then I think he was pulling my leg, cause he said 400hp. I believe the 4 door statement, but am leary to the 400hp.

The BMW 335 is DI and there are many tuning options for that car. I don't think DI will be an big issue for tuners as long as the demand is there.
