It's a nice idea, but the vents aren't flat. they slope down on the outer edges starting in the middle. I'd look for some Ebay version 22b style vents because they are flat, and don't dip.

Yea. If you're making your own I'd say go for it, if youre going to try to use a set of RS vents, I say no. That body line in the middle wouldn't look right.

There have been several threads about this recently and everyone always comes to that same conclusion in the end.

you should get vents and install them rather than try to make your own

the gc vents have a bodyline in them. they will not look right. I thought about the 22b vents but i dont like them on gc's so no go. thanks for the feedback so far.

making your own vents would be sweet but my advice is to put it on the side with the filter so that in dry weather you can make in funtional but block it off in wet weather. instead of venting your battery.

There're bunch of supports on the underside of the hood, you can't just cut through them without compromising the structure of the hood. So there're only a few spots you can cut the sheet metal and they definitely won't line up with the RS vents.

Here is/are my hood vents... Some may think it's ghetto but they are functional, and that's all I care about. http://s18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...t=DSC02968.jpg

I will do both sides just like an rs. they will be blocked off eather way im not leaving holes to my battery. posible to puut the little vent on the airbox side but doubt it. I just love the look of the old hoods. and this is my spare 3rd hood. I have both a painted rs stock and painted wrx. so i fig why not!

Yea, that would be great but there are supports under there that are in the way. It would weaken the hood too much to cut them I would think...

You should try this DJ, aspecially since you said you have several hoods. Would really like to see what it would look like. Makes me wonder about doing it to my L hood.
