Ok I have a half tank of gas. The motor is idling fine but when I go to step on the gas pedal nothing happens? What gives?

connect your gas pedal to the throttle. If we knew what kind of car you have, the diagnosis can be better. we can't read your mind, you have to inform us.

2004 is still cable throttle, right? I thought the Drive by Wire wasn't until 2005.

if it's cable driven, check by the pedals and in the engine bay to see that the cable is intact.
If drive-by-wire and this happened overnight, there's a wire loose/missing somewhere. |

All USDM STi's, '04-up, are drive-by-wire/electronic throttle.

look to see if something is cloging the intake. Putting the stock intake back to go in for some warranty work, a small plastic bag got sucked in and Luckily hung up on the throttle plate in the TB. I had driven 3 blocks and all of a sudden it wouldn't rev. They Every light on the dash flashed like a pinball machine. I was going to put back the CAI, and unplug the ABS again, and reached inside the TB, and found the bag.)) I wondered what could have happened if it had gotten sucked into the motor.(((
