Default Transmission Oil Change Question

I recently hit 60,000 miles on my 2004 WRX 5mt and decided it was a good time to change my transmission/diff oils. I ordered the Transmission Fluid Change Kit for my from fastwrx.com (http://fastwrx.com/trsekit.html). On the website it states

"You get enough Motul transmission fluid for your gearbox, and your choice of either Motul or Subaru's own LSD fluid for the rear differential."

The kit comes with 3 quarts of Motul 300. I did not look closely into volumes until the package arrived but then realized the 5mt takes 3.7 liters of oil. After a little searching I have seen a few people have not used the entire 3.7 liters, but only having 3 liters available to me doesnt sound like enough.

Anyone have any experience changing transmission fluid and using 3 liters or less?
Thanks for any input
Jon

You're not going to use the 3.7 qts for the transmission. Expect to use around 3.2-3.4 qts, depending on how much old oil you drain. I say 3 qts is not going to be enough. For the 5 speed you want to fill to the F line (full), you don't want to be on the low side. I'd get another quart to be safe.

That was pretty much my thoughts. Thanks

I wonder why they would sell the kit with 3 quarts and say that it is enough.

The kit is for 3 liter's of the fluid, which equals 3.17 quarts...so it might just be enough.

Correct my first post should 3.5 liters or 3.7 quarts

still a close call though.
