Default Any interest in a Race07/GTR Evolution league?

I know I'm cross-posting... delete if you must, mods.

A while back, we had a rFactor league going that was pretty fun, but we never had more than about 6 people show up. Stu and I have talked about trying to organize a league this fall with Race 07/GTR Evolution, probably using the WTCC cars. They're fairly fast, easy to drive, very evenly matched, and make for fun wheel-to-wheel racing.

For anyone that's not familiar with the games, there's a demo of both Race 07 and GTR Evolution available. Get the Race 07 demo and try out the WTCC cars we'd be driving at http://www.race-game.org/race07/download/demo.htm

We'll figure out more details later... I just want to know now whether or not we'd get more than 5 people showing up weekly for races

I would be in... I know of a few others that may be, as well. If we can get the details worked out ahead of time, that is.... (I have had some issues trying to run weekly races in the past)

...I would have never seen this in OT, FWIW.

Thats why we're talking about doing this in the fall. It should be for fun, so hopefully we'll get past all the macho BS early on, get a reasonable set of rules and get it going fully in the fall.

Yeah I hate that I bought STCC expansion when it came out because now it free with the next expansion, but the Camaro Cup is awesome.

I get rFactor, finally, and you guys decide to move on to GTR Evo, now I have to get another computer, and another video card. And I still need to get my 360 reflashed.

And oh yeah, I'm still jobless.

GTR Evo should run fine on your current machine, what is it?

We might actually end up going back to rFactor. Running a dedicated server with Race07/GTR Evo is appearing to be a total bitch and a half.... and finding a hosting company that will do it is EXPENSIVE.

I'd just like to do Race 07 because the WTCC cars are so much fun wheel to wheel. We'll try it and see how it goes in the meantime.

Depending on the ports I might be able to get it setup on my end at work.

Oh, that is pretty bad, although I'm not sure how well it would have run rFactor to begin with.

I can barely get 13 rF3s on the same track, and I need to be on pole for that to work well.

It's not ports.... it's the whole "Steam account can't be logged in at two places and where the hell else can I get the dedicated server portion of the game without Steam" part
