From the Time Attack UK website:

"Zen Performance meanwhile will be disappointed with their day at Brands, the Tom Ferrier driven Impreza retiring early from proceedings with technical difficulties."

No more details than that....

Unsure as to the exact cause, I suspect a combination of no dry sump, increased corner speed, increased engine power, increased peak RPM. I am 99% sure the bearing got hammered, spun and was ejected very quickly followed by catastrophic rod bolt failure.
