Default Black rims?

I don't understand how some people can like black rims. I have never liked the way they look on any car. To me, black rims look like someone stole your hubcaps. What's the deal with black rims?

I love my rims, besides...they're different. Everybody has silver or chrome wheels.

Splen Rex: I would have thought the same thing, but they show dirt very well

Figures that black rims show dirt too. Perhaps someone should make a dirt colored rim...

Splen Rex, you could always take some steel wheels, scuff all the paint off, let them rust....then the dirt wouldn't show Yeah, on my P1s, I get crazy build-up from road debris in between the spokes

Are they a pain in the ass to clean? I've been thinking of a set, but don't want to buy another cleaning chore to add on to my monthly home detailing job.

Black rims:

Show less dirt/brake dust

don't stain as easily.

Also, it de-chromes the car. I don't like chrome, or silver, and I like the blue and black combination. The only thing left to change on my car is swap out the stock headlights for the WRC style ones!

They look no-nonsense- like they have one purpose-speed. All go and no show, ya know.

thesmokingman, not hard at all...I just thought black rims wouldn't look as dirty, and that I wouldn't have to wash them. I notice when we get dry sunny weather, my rims stay clean looking, but when it rains (and it does that alot here) the rims gather dirt rather fast.

I like black rims sooooo much i Bought a set of Bronze Advans for close to $3500 with tires. I put them on the car and realized how much i lusted for more black rims. I stripped the paint off of them and had them powdercoated Black! I love them and wouldnt have them any other way! They are a way of being original and not like the others! Silver is played out. AND Conjure this mental picture....You are driving down the freeway and you see a NEW Porsche 911 Carrera RUF come up along side you with BLOOD red 6-pot Brembos seemingly hovering 12" off the ground becasue the wheels are spinning so quickly that they are practically invisible! PHAT! That was my inspiration..

Default THIS IS A JOKE, PEOPLE!!! (and it is being said in 2002 with nothing but love!)

I like the black rims but I wouldn't get them cause the property value around me would drop...

Letter of appology:
To whom it may concern,
I applogize if you are offended by these remarks. I am in a position where it might possibly offend me too (albiet in a very far off and minimal way). This was not mentioned in an attempt to offend anyone but I figured maybe this was a day and eage in which we could talk about these ridiculous stereotypes and joke around. For all it's worth, I always smell like rice and beans, I 'Babalu' on the weekends, I swam to my current home in NJ, My homelands national anthem is "Row, Row, Row your boat", and I voted for Elian Gonzalez in the last presidential election... There ya happy?
