Default Lincoln, NE (duncan aviation) first timmer

sould someone give my a quick few tips with a few things?
im planning on taking my car to the airport here in lincoln, where they held a pro/solo event in,, may?- i think it was- . i guess they do days where any -joe blow- off the street can drive the course for sum X$.
ive had my impreza for 6 yrs and have done just about all the stupid things you can do, and she still a great car.
im decently familiar of the handling and response if the car since i have drivin it quite abit.
problem is, ive never been on any track before.
the car is basically stock.
i have a bunkass intake pipe, terrible adjustable springs that ride about as good as a go-kart. the struts have been replaced, with kyb AGX adjustables. i have messed around with the pressure of the struts much, just made them all the way soft so it rides, a tiny bit better.
- i am guessing what i have probably makes it handle worse, but if anyone could lend some advise on mabey where to set those pressures at, and or what are some basic starter-up'ers??
any good tire pressure, considering the tires are generic all seasons with a max psi of like 35 or 42psi or something like that.
-take air filter off?.,mabey?
thicker oil?? -rec. weight/viscosity??
----is nitrogen filled tires good or bad for track use? -obviosly hard to inflate at most places..

any word??

I would put the tires about 10psi over stock and show up. The intake and springs will put you in ST (street touring) so enter that class. They should have helmets for you to borrow if you don't have one that is suitable (Snell M95 or newer).

Other than that, let them know you're new to the sport and they will make sure to get you hooked up with a veteran who can show you the ropes.

Just drive and have fun!

BTW....I made the trip out to Lincoln back in May for that ProSolo. Nice town you have there!!!!

thanx jay, but im not from here originally. its not bad, but i am fond of colorado.

i appreciate your advise! i ask for help alot and im guessing everyone laughs when they read my stuff, cuz i cant get much help.

adding 10psi?!? -should i just drain my (free at the time)-nitrogen and fill with regular air? i was told the pressure doesnt change much with heat and cold using nitrogen.

btw, you may have seen me there, not knowing it
i was the only GC8 there. -black 98 on gold stock-ies. and the (sadest) primered driver side fender.
-my old lady came for 1 hour, and couldnt believe i sat there all day for the 3 days they were there. -we dont get much auto action out here, if ever

i talked with -partick #95 DSP a tiny bit, more of hello, and nice car
i did happen to snap a pic of his next to mine (korny i know)
and the 2 guys with the teal/turqoise 96 impreza L. the one guy took a look-see at my block and gave me some vaccum line advise. that shows that these guys are here to help. which is great considering everyone competes. none the less, the autocrossing or, prosolo in this case, seem to be exactly what would fit me, realistically.

sorry for the novel
thanx for the advise

anybody have anything on stiffer of softer settings for the adjustable struts?

I'm the guy who took a look at your car.... Glad to see you're gonna run it! You can use the nitrogen if you've already got it in there. Put a couple dabs of white shoe polish on the shoulders of the tires to get an idea of rollover, it'll wear off and show you how far the tires are rolling.

I would probably start by putting the AGX's at 3F and 6R. Should be a decent starting point.....unless you just leave them as is. They're already stiffer than stock.

Good luck,
Jay
