Default how to wire Weldon/external fuel pump

I've read a few posts saying the bosch 044 (external after surge tank) needs to run 100% all the time, and not controlled like the stock or walbro fuel pump.

I'll put Weldon instead of bosch, I wanna know if I can connect it to a relay triggered by ignition on, when connected that way, the ignition on power turns off when cranking the engine, will that affect the fuel flow? Does the stock or walbro intank fuel pump starts pumping during cranking? All I know is that it pumps just before cranking, I can hear it pumping then it stops even the key is in "ignition on"

There are some "on" wires that go dead when you crank the car, and some that don't. Use one that doesn't.

Check out my post about wiring the pump I used. Same principle.

*Source +12vdc main power thru a relay straight from the battery
*Source relay triggers from the OEM pump controller: 2 wires, pump is negatively triggered by controller and it will prime & turn off if engine is not cranked within a couple of seconds. Works like a charm.

refer to first 3 pics on Post#2, disregard the other pics about the Hydra wiring. The first 3 pics apply to all external pump wiring

Well , you can start running your wiring in advance and splicing into the pump controller harness.
Use a multimeter or circuit tester to confirm what each of those 2 wires source at each of the positions on the IGN switch.
It's really not that difficult getting all the connections done.
Good luck!
