Default OEM 16" wheels to fit '06 WRX?

I want to get a set of cheap 16" wheels for winter use on my '06. I was gonna buy some older WRX wheels 'til I found out they won't clear the brakes on the '06.

Stock wheels come up cheap a lot on Craigslist so I'm wondering what years and what cars I should be looking for that will fit my car. In another thread someone mentioned older 2.5 RS wheels which might be hard to find but you never know. I'd like to know what years and models specifically will fit. Are there any Outback or Legacy wheels that will fit? What about newer Imprezas?

Someone also recommended using spacers but that would require longer wheel studs. I'd rather not go to the hassle of using longer studs & spacers if I can just find some wheels that would fit to begin with.

Hmmm, no wonder I couldn't find any answers to this by searching.

Anyone know what size wheels come on '08-'09 Imprezas and whether they'd fit?

The SoA website is really light on details... Says nothing about wheel sizes or brakes or anything really technical at all for current models.

Well thanks but could you give this poor ignoramus a clue as to which ones? Someone told me that older WRX wheels will not fit due to the larger brakes on the '06. So.... what other Subie wheels *will* fit? At least point me to a source for this information if it exists as I've been unable to find it.

The reason I'm fixated on OEM wheels rather than aftermarket is because Craigslist is full of OEM take-offs for cheap.

Okay, thanks! I dunno why I can't find threads about '06 WRX wheel interchange...

I don't really care what they look like, I'll paint 'em black if I'm not crazy about the styling. Just want to get info on as many different OEM wheels that'll fit so when a set comes up cheap on Craigslist I can jump on them.

I'm bummed the older WRX wheels won't fit. I see them very frequently for dirt cheap. Was just about to pull the trigger on a set with like-new snow tires for $400 when I heard about the brake issue. Hell, maybe I shoulda bought them anyway just for the tires.

d00000000d....you can run a 5mm spacer on the front and the 02-05 wrx wheels will clear

I'm under the impression that to run spacers I also need longer wheel studs. Is that incorrect?

5mm spacer is the largest you can run with stock studs

Any idea if '06 Impreza Outback wheels would fit? Currently on Craigslist for an asking price of $325.
