Default Wheels needed

I am in need of wheels for track days and autocross badly. My heart was set on 17x9 Rota torques in gunmetal, as I have the 17x8 torques in silver now, but have not been able to find some with just wheels not tires. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for wheels in 17x9 size that are not expensive or I might buy some 17x8.5 like the xxr 518, anyone have experince with those?

What tire width are you trying to fit? 17x8" works ok for 245/40/17. You don't really need the extra width until you go for 255/40/17 and beyond. If you do intend to go 8.5" of width or more, I'd stress offset. It really makes fittment a lot easier the closer to stock offset you can find.

I run 255/40/17's on 17x8.5" +48 rims. Rear fenders need a slight roll but otherwise pretty painless.

Also note your auto-x class can change based on tire width. I think 245 is max for what most people run (stock turbo, etc).

My tires are 255/40 17 A032r, so 8.5 is really the lowest I'd want to go, I prefer 9 inch width.

Also I'm in SM class so I could run 305 tires if I really wanted but that would not be worth the time or money.

Why not 17x9 Rota DPT's, 17x9 5Zigen FN01R-C's, or maybe the 17x8.5 TR Motorsports MT1's?

The Torque in 17x9 only comes in an aggressive 17x9 +30 fitment which is not a setup I typically would recommend for track use due to the aggressive fit (on a stock bodied car). Also, this model has only been offered in Full Royal Sports Bronze, Flat Black, White, and Hyper Black (gun metallic has not been offered in the US).

As mav1c mentioned, the Rota DPT in 17x9 +42 fitment would be a great choice for your car. These setup is very affordable, fits great (while allowing you to run a massive 245/40/17 or 255/40/17 tire), only weighs 18.9 lbs, and comes in pretty much every color (yes, they are available in Gun Metallic )

Here's examples of this model on various Subaru's

If you have any questions feel free to post, PM me, or call me direct in the shop
