2002 WRX OEM gauge cluster illumination issues

Hey all, new to NASIOC and I am having an issue I could really use some help with on my 2002 WRX!

About a year ago I did the fog light mod so that they would run at any time, I tapped in to the Illumination wire behind my fuse box. The mod worked fine up until recently. I tinkered around with it for awhile, I was puzzled as to why it stopped working when all of my wires looked good.

I ended up reverting it to the stock set up and it was working as it was intended. However, none of my gauges lit up. Checked under the hood and it was a blown fuse, no big deal. Now however, all of my gauges light up and the dimmer works except for the OEM Temperature Gauge. The gauge itself works fine, no problems. However, there is no illumination at all. I have done some searching around and I am trying to find out if the gauge cluster as a whole runs off of one illumination wire or if maybe I dislodged a wire specifically for the illumination of the temperature gauge.

Any insight to this would be extremely helpful!

Could it jsut be a dead bulb? Does the oem gauge cluster have bulbs? I haven't been able to find out exactly how it works. I guess it could be a bulb the only thing that makes me question this is because the needle and the actual gauge lights are both out. Hmmmmm.
