Default Built heads BC springs/retainers & sti cams

Ive tried to search this but its a hard question to find out. Im looking to get built 2.0 wrx heads for a 2.5 hybrid build. I am wondering if I can get away with using STI cams (of course avcs plugged) and using them on built 2.0 heads with brian crower springs, retainers, with racing valves and shimless buckets. I have the option of using stage 3 cams but feel that is overkill on a simple 18g set up for now (stock tranny).

If anyone knows or runs with that set up let me know.

i would personally do the "stage 3" cams, i'm guessing BC280s? if you PNP your head, and build it, then your sti cams are gonna be the restriction.

do it once not twice =)

You can run whatever cams you want it there but one of you choices is better than the other and it ain't the STi choice.

you can use an AVCS cam with the setup...use the non avcs cam seals and you have it right with plugging them.

I would suggest a little bigger than factory if you can. I'd run BC 272's, which the BC cams really are NOT aggressive.

Thanks guys, well after researching the cams, I definately think Im going to buy stage 2 cams that have a duration of 272 and run those instead.

Yeah 272's are what you need.
