Default Japanese Groceries in Anc/Valley?

Besides New Sagaya where can someone go grocery shopping for Japanese foods in Anchorage or Wasilla? Yellow Pages don't seem to turn up much. I had a little Japanese market near my house in CA, and I miss it. I need to get me some Ramune, weirdo Japanese candy varieties (for my nephew, I swear!) and some ingredients so I can attempt to make my own Beef Sukiaki and Hayashi.

New Sagaya has two locations one across from the university and one in down town. Aside from that their are a few on Minnesota before you get to the airport. Some on C st, a few in the Muldoon area, and a couple on Fireweed. The thing is you still will not find all of what you need locally because most of these shops are Korean owned and do not specialize in Japanese items. For what my family uses we buy everything we need when we are outside of Alaska and bring it home.

Thanks guys, I guess they really don't advertise well eh, seeing as none of us know any names except New Sagaya really. Which really never had much of anything Japanese that I remember, some but not a lot, though it has been a while since I was there, years and years. I'll just cruise around the areas you guys mentioned and have my buddy keep his eyes open on all the little strip malls and such.

I guess everything I'm looking for can be ordered online too... never thought of that. I'm just wanting to see if I can even cook it as good as the restaurants do, save my unemployed butt a lot of money that way! Also my nephew has never had Ramune (awesome fruity sodas, lol) or Japanese food at all, trying to broaden some horizons... I think Hamburgers and Mac and Cheese is the range of his diet!

There is the International Markert on 36th as mentioned.
New Sagaya, as mentioned.
AP A Asian Market (300 W 36th Ave #6)
The New Central Market
Paunessica Asian Store (907) 646-1914
Suda Asian MarketAddress: 531 W Fireweed Ln
A/C Oriental MarketAddress:‎(907) 562-2742

Honestly I don't know how many of those are open still.

Maybe walk into a restaurant that servers "Japaneese" food, and ask if they know of a local place to get gorceries?

Most of the restaurants around town get their stuff from DiTomaso's, Sysco and FSA (food services of america) but it wouldn't hurt to ask.

I meant more where the employee's shop =)

I had an East Indian Grocery Store in town for a few years on Northern Lights, we ordered from places in seattle and California.

You could look into doing an order with other families that order the same type of food, if you can't find it.

Maybe even check Rainbow Video, I bet they get a lot of werid questions like that. They have a lot of variety on Video/DVD's etc. Neil works over there. (EDIT: Yes I Know they are not Japanese)
