Default 07 WRX with a Blouch Dom 2.5

We finished up this customers car a while ago but forgot to post the dyno graph in here till today. This customer is a avid auto-X with his 07 WRX as well as this being his daily driver. All of the mods are pretty basic and we ended up with a nice power band that is a blast to drive on the street. This is by far one of the funnest daily driven cars we have built in a long time.

Engine:
06 STI long block
Cobb AP Ver2 with FLI protune 20.5 PSI boost and Meth injection
APS 3.5in TBE
APS Header
Blouch dom 2.5
STI TMIC
JDM Ver 5-6 big maf air box.
PE 850CC injectors
Aquamist HFS-5

Suspension
KW Variant 3 coilovers
Cobb front and rear sway bars
DMS camber plates
Whiteline ALK

Drivetrain:
ACT stage 1 clutch
ACT flywheel
Cobb SS with bushings
04 STI wheels

For more info on this car check out our block at http://fliblog.wordpress.com/2009/01...ca-competitor/

Wow that turbo comes on hard! Like stock vf-43 hard but lasts way better to redline.

Nice job!

one of the better spooling charts i've seen for the 2.5r, its hitting 300wtq close to 3100 rpms.

Great numbers....this is one of my favorite turbo's.

Why did you stick with the STi TMIC?

Obviously the injectors where not maxed out but did you have to use a Big MAF with this set-up?

This is a 07 wrx right? What has been done to the gears to support all this added power?

How the heck is this thing coming alive so early. I had this turbo on my legacy, though it took 800 rpms later to be fully kicking.

The Aqaumist kit has a lot to do with the turbo coming on so early. Without the meth injection it would be around 7-8 hundred RPM later like you stated.

This is a 07 WRX the customer had hit 06 STI engine laying around so that was swapped in there. Currently after this last season of AutoX he finished the tranny is still holding together. How long it holds together is up for debate.

Did you run into any heat soak issues using the STi TMIC with the 2.5r?

A little but not to bad with the Meth injection. Things always get pretty hot in the dyno room. If you are planning on running this turbo hard or at the track I would recommend the better top mount intercooler.

Yes we did use a Big maf in this setup Its a little hard to tell in the picture but it is the Airbox and maf tube from a version 5-6 JDM STI the maf housing on the stock piece is a little over 3 inches

Nice. And it makes me worry less about my APS TMIC/DomIII combo.

This is an interesting turbo as Ive been researching this one and the 20g a long time now. For the most part, an 20g 8cm will outperform this spool wise, about equal hp on pump gas. But on meth is where this baby shines, much better spool and top end.

I would say that is a pretty fair statement. Considering on pump gas 20g's are about the same power. We are doing a One of these at the shop right now with a APS FMIC so it will be interesting to see how far we can push it.
