My car has spent more time broken and sitting either in my driveway or on a lot waiting on parts from PPG, than it has seen track or road. Absolutely unacceptable! I would not have customers if I went about my business this way!

I am absolutely digusted with the way all this has been handled and wish I never got caught up in this mess. I understand perfectly 110% you need to pay to play, and things break, but I have barely gotten to play and that just sucks!

I'm stock turbo and don't beat on my gears to terribly bad either...makes me sick thinking of the built motor I could have had by now and all the other goods that should have been in my car at this point. Not to mention all the vital track experience I've been missing out on while the car has been down.

Live and learn..my learning curve is obviously a little slow because anyone with half a brain would have said FU after the second or third time failing and went a different route or taken action in some way! Not me I had to be a nice guy and hope for the best each time! Never again thats for sure!

Though I must say not every failure was on PPG, I'll take full responsibilty for my transfer gears taking a dump...Thats it though!

I am however grateful the shop doing the build has at least tried to work with me with the issues at hand or at least have made it seem that they were sincerely trying to help, as I understand they could have told me to F off if they really wanted to be ass's so I definetly take that into account! However I am still incredibly displeased at this point. One can only take so much before he starts to wonder whats really going on!

Best of luck on getting your box situated and lets hope mine holds togather for the sach of my sanity.
**** gears, I'm getting a jet engine. Problem solved.

Sorry to hear you're having issues too, that sounds like a huge mess. I've been running a stock transmission for 2 months now just so I can use the car.

I'm not at liberty to tell the whole story, but right after my gears broke, DS1 broke ties with MFactory. They told me they were thinking about cutting the ties, but never really told me they went through with it. That was two months ago, I just found out about it by contacting DS1. They replied promptly, which I appreciate, but this situation just sucks. I contacted MFactory directly, hopefully something will happen soon.

and blazzin06wrxdude sucks to hear that about the PPG stuff. i think the main flaw with all the aftermarket gearsets is the junk 5-speed casing, the split case design is terrible for rigidity and power handling.

Totally agree with the split case design sucking majorly but I do not belive that is the issue at hand as most of my failures were manufacturing defects on PPG. And after so many failures one starts to wonder if its the driver, the manufacturer, or the shop doing the install.

I can already take one of the factors out of the eqaution and am pretty confident about the second factor being completely compitent at what they do,as I know they do it very well, despite how truely displeased I am with them!

However the third I can not attest to as they are down under a couple thousand miles away...Have I visited there facility, NO!

I feel that it is safe to assume there must have been a dramatic shift in build quality or manufacturing process either due to production cost or greed, putting out an inferior product for the same price tag and trying to pawn it off. Even theire horsepower ratings on theire site have been brought down a sizable bit since first appearing in the states.

When PPG first appeared it truely was the " unbreakable box" guys running early sets are still running them without issue...set's from 06 and on have had quite a few failures, though they are kept on the down low, in my opinion to not soil the reputation of "TEH BEST GEARS ON EARTH" at least this is my experience and take on the situation..for all I know I could just be one unlucky guy! Doubt thats the case though!

ha, i bet it has been something with cost-cutting somewhere along the lines of production.

i'll stick with 6MTs

If I could go back in time I would have went six speed all the way...Really kicking myself at this point!

I have a fresh box now, brand new clutch and flywheel and as much as I want to yank it out and be done with PPG for good I would almost feel bad passing it on to someone else! My $6,000 worth of potential headache. sure I could unload it but that just means some other poor sap is stuck with it...not cool. I wouldn't like it if someone did it to me!

Now I get to drive it just waiting for it to break again..The anxiety is overwhelming and frankly kills the joy of even owning the car.
