True. Last time SUCKED BALLS. Man the humidity was unbearable. Still nice to see as many cars, though. Driving home in torrential downpour for the first time in AWD was A MA ZING. I never had been in a car that performed so well in that kind of weather. I heart my scoobie.

Yessiree! I don't think I've ever felt more comfortable in the rain in any car.

Speaking of water... does the craft shop have a heat gun? I kind of have a problem with a nice film of what looks to be foggy condensation in my headlights from when i was messing with the dust caps during a hot, humid day last week

I might just say eff it and do the whole shebang on Friday (take off bumper and bake them in the oven), all the more excuse to open them up and bend down the squirrel finders I guess... still not what I want to spend my RDO Friday doing.

For those of interest (maybe Jeff or Lee) we settled on our house today.

If anyone in northern Baltimore County or Southern Carroll County needs a garage for a day let me know. Not much to offer in regards to tools but it's a large 1 car enough space to park the car and easily move around it. This isnt a free invite to anyone on Nasioc....it's an open offer to reputable members of this forum.

Thanks. Buying a house is a huge PITA and I'm thankful that part is over with.

It's going to take some getting used to. A house needs a good bit of up keep but atleast I'll have something to show for it in 30 years.

A personal hint...if at settlement and the guy says "here's a form with some numbers on it. Do not look at block #3" DO AS YOUR TOLD.

Just sign it...do not look at block 3. Block 3 showed I am actually paying nearly 500,000 for the house with interested add.

Eh, it beats paying rent which goes toward NOTHING. In 30 years when you're done making payments, it'll be worth more than 500k probably.

On a sidenote, if you were to ever need a security system for new home, give me a shout.

Thanks for the offer but we have a close family friend that does security systems and he's going to look at it for us. The previous owners left a wired system just need monitoring.

Thanks though.

Congrats!!! Sure is nice OWNING a home. I HATE paying rent. Until the buyers close on my house in TX, I can't budge.

Probably won't help at this point... I'm now under the assumption it's off-gassing from the RTV I used to seal up the hole I cut in the outer cap. If I can't clean it off from the lens when I make my attempt on Friday, I'll be shopping for new headlights.

Moral of story, stick to butyl rubber and not silicone.

EDIT: I stuck a rod with some kim-wipes through the high beam reflector and the haze wipes off! whew! Looks like it's just residue from the acetic acid (layman's terms: vinegar) off-gassing of the silicone. I thought I had it fully cured, but apparently it still had some in it. I'll be able to clean it off Friday when I open the lights up.

Tell me about it.

Oh good news though for all 08+ owners, I was talking to the TRS guys on the phone and they're making a drop in mounting bracket for their morimoto mini bi-xenon projector! He said they'll have it available in about a month and would let me know. I'm going to do the squirrel finder mod and run this kit and wait to see what they end up doing.

I will be buying some swag items from www.subarugear.com in the next week. Shipping can be a bitch with this site. If you would like to get a few things let me know and I can put together an order and distribute the items at the next meet. We can split the shipping. Let me know if anybody wants in.

I've always gone to D&L window tinting on Joppa road. They do a great job and they stand behind it for the lifetime of the car.

I just had mine done at IAG 2 weeks ago. Looks great. I had minor bubbling the first 2 days, but it looks perfect now.

D&L has always been good to me. I got my old '96 Accord tinted @ the Route 40 location a while ago and they also tinted my '07 WRX about 3yrs ago with no problems. Back when I got mine tinted the Joppa location did not exist.
