Default Anyone sold a car at a Park and Sell?

As most of you know, I'm trying to sell the car. Haven't had much luck yet. Has anyone here had any dealings with any of the park and sell places? United called me and offered to put my car on the lot for like $900 when it sold, and seemed pretty certain they could get me what I wanted since they finance.

Just trying to get a feel for the whole concept. Good idea or bad??

downside is you lose control over who test drives your car. someone can mob your car and you have no say in it.

Stay away from united they have a pretty bad reputation. I sold a corvette at park and sell america before phil bought it, it sold in 4 days but then again someone was looking for a corvette. With a car like yours you'd probably be looking at a bit more time to sell. I tried to buy an STI from a lot once and they wanted $28k for it, I saw a very similar one in the paper a day later for $23k and called the number in the classifides. He told me if I wanted to look at it I could go down to this park and sell. I told him I already had and that they wanted 28 for it. He got very pissed at the park and sell because they were supposed to be selling it for $23k and he was paying them money on top of that. Your milage may vary but for the most part selling it yourself is probably a better way to go.

P.S. after the stink the owner caused I tried to go back and buy it from the park and sell for 23 and they 'divorced' me as a customer....lol

Coworker just did this at a local lot - worked well. They were very structured you paid a flat fee for the month and they prorated it if your car sold before the month was up.
All test drives were logged with mile history and even notes as to which streets were covered. I was pretty impressed and actually thinking about doing that with my legacy.
They handle all the paperwork and take a flat fee. Seemed worth it if you don't have time to deal with looky loos and craigslist tossers.

funny. I tried buying an 04 STI from Park n Sell originally and then ended up just buying a new LGT from the dealer for much less than what they wanted.

QFT! My friend who previously owned my car had it down there, they were trying to get $34K for it, that's what it cost brand new. So I called him up told him how much they were trying to sell it for, and he got pissed. Asked him what he owed, and told him I would buy it for that amount. The salesmen had an eager "I'm about to rip this guy off" look on his face when I showed back up, but that quickly stopped when my friend asked for the keys and he proceeded to tell them I was buying it.....just not through park and sell.

This place sounds like they price high then charge a parking fee so there for not worth it for them to actually sell the car vs just collecting the easy parking fee?

You should be in the military. Lemon Lot FTW. $14 a month in the middle of base. The people call you and you negociate privately. Thats where I got the GTI for $700. Guy had it on the lot for a week or two.

San Carlos Ca - on El Camino Blv
She sold her jeep a couple of years ago but I was really impressed with what they did for her. Not sure if they still do all that but the lot is still there full of cars. So they must be doing something right?

Though I agree if the lot prices the cars off the chart then something is up.
