Default Transmission Filter(s) ?

Changing the ATF and filter(s) in my 99 Impreza Outback Sport w/ 55k miles. Currently I have 4 quarts of DexIII as well as two different tranny filters.

Checker sold me an internal (inside tranny pan) filter FT1150
Checker's Filter

Autozone sold me an external (small oil filter screw on style) TF90
Autozone's TF90

Napa's Filter

Is there really a filter under that pan or did checker sell me something I did not need?

there is no filter in the pan, its just a mesh screen.

the filter is the external one wich subaru says never needs to be changed unless damaged or leaking.

I would replace the spin on one and not worry about the other...

Thanks wrxdrvr and munkis. I'll return the "internal" transmission filter kit to checker and get my $25 dineros back. I have to get an oil filter wrench anyways, they put that external transmission filter on pretty good.
