Default A/C Pump Going Bad

Hello Nasioc,

Heres the deal I had just gotten my Subaru's Timing belt, hoses, all other belts done and when I tried to use the a/c it makes that belt noise like if the belts going out or if it's too tight and its not the A/C belt because I had just got the car back from the shop and I tried to loosen the the A/C belt witch I did but it got worse so now im beging to think that my A/c pump is going out heres why i think correct me if I'm wrong.

When the A/C is off it just rides freely on the Pulley
When the A/C is On the electronic magnets engages the clutch and that clutch spins the whole pump.

now for my scenario my a/c is on the belt sound is heard I look at the Pump pulley and when the sound is herd and the a/c pump pulley is slowly turning (almost stopped) and then when the sound goes away the belt starts to turn really fast, almost as fast as the timing belt the correct way as it should but then the sound comes on again and again its a cycle over and over if this is true why is this its still a new car well its 06 with 62000 miles and the timing belt has just been changed and all the hoses and other belts do i need to change the pump as i think i should let me know people.

my 2000 makes a noise to, like if you give it gas say 4,500rpm to 5,500rpm it sounds like a blow off valve when the car shifts. I think the stock pumps are junk cause lately everyone is having problems with them.

Why did you loosen the belt if it was slipping?
