Hi. I just got my tactrix cable 2.0 and installed RomRaider, ECUFlash, and the latest definitions. I have a 2007 wrx tr. My problem is that I can't see the following definitions:
1. feedback knock correction 2. fine learning knock correction I don't even see those parameters defined in the latest definition i downloaded! and also right when I connect to my ECU, this option: -Knock Correction Advance dissapears! What do you think is the problem? Anyway, I'm really trying to look to see if my car is knocking. Do I need to do something else other than looking to log the mentioned parameters? Thanks a lot

Saying that, I'm not sure they are available on newer models, in which case you would log "knock sum" instead. Quote:
I'm have not logged a CAN model before so I'm afraid I can not say if the parameter shoul'd actually be available or not. You're better speaking with the guys over on the RomRaider forums. Quote:

feedback knock correction and fine learning knock correction are available on all Subarus supported in RR, even those that support knock sum.
Subaru removed knock correction advance in about 07 and later models and added "learned ignition timing". However, I added knock correction advance as an extended parameter for those 07 and later models, so you'll still be able to log it. As leslie stated, you have to be connected to the ECU in order to view extended parameters as they are ECU specific. If you don't see them after connecting then: 1. You are not actually connected - view the message on the status bar at the bottom of RomRaider and post that up. 2. Your ECU is not supported. You'll need to pull the ROM with Ecuflash and a tactrix cable and submit them. 3. Your using old definitions. |

i actually had this happen to me the other night, but it was random out of the blue. i had to reboot my computer and everything was back to normal. i get quite a few glitches with rom raider and have to restart it and unplug the cable fairly frequently. oh well.

i used to be REALLY good at this stuff a few years ago, but have since been out of the game. is there ANY WAY someone can walk me through making sure my definitions are updated. i know there is a folder somewhere where i (IIRC) cut/paste the definition to add "feedback knock correction".
i've tried looking for it once connected to the car. no dice. strange i just updated to the Beta 0.5.4 Beta RC1. |

Why don't you just update the definitions anyways? If you don't know if they are in date then chances are they are not. Really good at what stuff? Just go to the Program folder in Windows.

"used to be really good" at updating definitions. i used EvoScan and EcuFlash for a couple years and got used to updating definitions and updating files.. but that was quite a while ago. i'm a bit rusty and don't remember exactly how to do it.
with EvoScan i'd find the coding for the parameters i wanted to log and cut/paste them into the definition files for my car. i haven't figured out now to update RomRaider yet. i did download the latest beta version of RomRaider, today. so i'm gonna run out and see if "feedback knock correction" appears when connected to the car. |

The Subaru definitions are complete. You simply remove and replace. All the info is right on Romraider's site. I have never had to do anything with the coding unless I was adding in launch control or adding in something to the editor.

when i open RR it does tell me "car definition file not found. go online to download latest definition file". when i click "yes", it takes me to a page where i previously downloaded and updated the files. that's what had me thinking i did something wrong. i've gotten this prompt since first installing RR. it's never affected the operation of my logging, from what i can tell. it just tells me i may not be able to use the "dyno feature". no biggie. i went to the link you provided, then found this: Quote:

Let me know if you can figure this out. I have a 2004 FXT and I need to log feedback knock correction and fine learning knock correction but it's not available. It's updated. I've reinstalled a couple times. I can log pretty much everything else no problems. Wideband, etc...
Mikey is tuning me right now and I'm going to have to log via my Cobb AP (I can log FLKC & FBKC on the Cobb) which is ok, but I can't log my wideband O2 with the Cobb AP so I'll have to shoot a video of my Uego gauge/display which doesn't seem as accurate. I did read Leslie's quote from 2009 "Log load, rpm and knock sum, ignition total timing and WB02 (if you have it). Every time knock sum increases, your ECU has determined that knock has occurred. You can then hen check AFR and/or timing at the load and rpm points where knock sum increased and make changes as required." Will that yield the same practical results as logging FLKC & FBKC? Thanks |

I have still never figured this out. I can log it just fine in Access Tuner Race so it's not my ECU.

There is an issue with the definitions that are loaded up for the car.

Not looking for hand holding here, but this is what I am using right now:
RomRaider 0.5.6 Release Candidate 6 logger_v154.zip ROMRAIDER STANDARD units ECU definitions 0.8.3.1b 10-07-09.zip I have re-downloaded them and re-installed. Still can't see FBKC, FLKC, etc. Should I put it on a completely new laptop? |

Installed on a different laptop. All the options are there and selected. As soon as it connects with ecu, IAM, flkc and fbkc disappear. This is very frustrating. The options are there right before my eyes, then disappear.
