Default FS: (ID) Rebuilt *zero* mile 02 wrx transmission

I have a unique situation here. I have a 02 wrx tranny with a bad main shaft and second gear. A month before the gear died, it was rebuilt with nearly a $4000.00 total. I put less than 1000 miles on it before it died.

Here's the deal... I can have the tranny professionally rebuiltand sell it for $1100+ shipping,
OR

I can sell it as is with bad mainshaft/2nd gear for $400+ shipping.

Let me know what you want.

I need to make a decision in the next day or so (ASAP!). This is a great opportuninty for somenone to get a rebuilt fresh tranny for an awesome price.

7/18/09 Edit: I made the decision to go ahead an have it rebuilt. I know someone could use this tranny. I am lowering the price to 1100 + shipping.

Thanks for the bump and info. This transmission is being rebuilt right now. It will be in super good condition, basically like new, when it is done... New main shaft with bearings, new 1st and 2nd gears with synchros, new gear selector, etc... It will be hot out of the shop by mid next week. Someone can find value in this.

NEW PRICE BUMP 1100 + shipping

If I can't sell it now for what I need, I will keep it installed and sell it when I get the money for a swap. I am guessing I will probably put 1000 miles on it before I pull it and put it up for sale. I will take 1000 + shipping when I pull it... but it will have some use.

I will not launch or drive this transmission aggressively while in use.

Still remains for sale....

$1100 + shipping.

The trans was finished today. Here is a total run down of all parts replaced:
1. Input Bearing
2. Pinion shaft front bearing
3. Pinion shaft rear bearing
4. 1st gear pinion shaft
5. 2nd gear pinion shaft
6. 1st gear synchro ring
7. 2nd gear synchro ring
8. 1-2 slider
9. Input shaft

Like new clutch parts (3000 miles):

10. Clutch disk (oem)
11. Pressure Plate
12. Pilot Bearing
13. throw out bearing
14. exchange flywheel

Shifting feels very precise and notchy.

Note: I put 23 miles on the tranny today driving it home.

Holy S$#T this is a terrible story...time to buy the PPG gear tranny on Nasioc right now for a bit of a price, but worth it in the end...or just wait for the market to drop as it's kinda peaking right now and pick up a 6 speed for $1K.

Sorry to hear about this. I've got my 3rd gear issue, but it at least only grinds a little and is otherwise solid

Cheers!

yep, another broken wrx tranny for sale...

3rd engages but does not drive.

1st and 2nd are new.

I am going to see if the shop will fix it for free, otherwise I am selling it broken.
