Default '06 Fuel Filter Wrx

Has anyone changed their in the tank fuel filter on their '06 - '07 wrx ? Looks time consuming but , looks pretty straight forward. Anything to look out for or horror stories. Thinking about putting a bypass and relocating it to engine compartment so it will be easier next time.
