Default Kartboy buzzing sound??

Hey everyone I just installed my kartboy shortshifter and bushings and love how my shifting feels but i am hearing a slight buzzing/ vibrating sound when i lay off the gas. Under acceleration and breaking i dont hear it, only when the engine is slowing the car down. Could this be a result of the hardened bushings? I didn't hear this before the mod and cant find anything lose. Have any of you had this happen or know wat else it could be?

I also noticed this buzzing sound after the Kartboy install. Not too menacing, but noticeable to anal retentive people like myself. I was told that it would dissappear once the hardened bushings went in, which makes me wonder why you still have that issue after installing the bushings?

Peace,
Oqui

I instlled the shifter and bushings all in the same day so i dont know the difference between with or without them. The sound i hear is with the bushings and shifter. I just found another post that says the grinding/ buzzing sound is typical in the WRX, is it also with the RS and TS ????

it might be the bolt that connects the shift linkage is not tight enough so it rattles or it could be hitting the shift plate. other than that, i dunno.

The buzzing is coming from where the linkage mounts to the shifter. You might try insulating the metal to metal contact. I have the Cobb shifter and kartboy bushing. It buzzes like a mofo when it's cold(weather not engine) at WOT.

BTW- Subie Trials: what does the "trials mean"? Not bike trials is it?

edit: Ok, just read your profile... You have been PMed

Really? Hmm... So by insulation do you mean LOTS of grease, or some sort of piece of rubber or plastic something?

This is strange, I've been getting a buzzing sound when I let off the gas too, but I have NO short-shifter. I posted another thread on it, but my sounds come from the engine bay and can be described best as a buzzing sound.

There was a post about this yesterday. I saw it under kartboy short shifter search. Supposedly on the new school rigs there is a plate which needs to be turned around during installation. Here's the link.

hope that works. it discusses the matter about halfway through.
