Unfortunately, yes. We took a camcorder and filmed some of the stares we got, for good measure. One guy was yelling something about how it looked like a "tennis ball launcher," among other things.

<sarcasm> sure, buddy, it's a tennis ball launcher. </sarcasm>

Um, I was too embarassed to actually drive the car myself. (yes, I know, spare me your taunts) But my friend who had driven the car before swore there was a bit more on the top end. I think it felt faster too, but it always feels faster when you're the passenger.

Haha, tennis ball launcher. You shouda said it was a potatoe gun! Haha...anybody remember those?

That certainly is the cold air intake of all cold air intakes! You should slap a huge scoop on the end of that bastard!

Have someone build a cowling for it. Make it look like a dragster. You'll get the Civics revving for sure!

Daveish, that is hallarious.
It sorta reminds me of military jets with a "wet nose" during In-Flight refuelling....

Hey how about putting a grass blower on there and mod it so you can pull the chain from the inside without having to go outside the car. Should be a good 10-20 HP gain.

Think -- How much fun would it be to pull up to a red light next to a riced out honda, get out of your car, start your leaf blower slash supercharger, smile real big as you get back in your car and the rest would be history...

Imagine the looks you would get doing something like that.

Maybe next weekend.

I remember joking around with a couple local I-clubbers about doing something like that... We were all to chicken and sober to actually try it though

Say Top_Dog,
That's quite the novel approach.
How's the performance with that set-up?

top dog,
Do you have a setup that keeps water out or do you just put the cover back under the scoop when it rains?
