Default Tranny and Rear Diff oil changes help

OK guys so I was new to the Subaru community a year ago when I purchased my WRX and new to AWD as well. Please go easy on me here. How often should one change there rear diff and tranny oil? Anyone have step-by-step instructions on how this is done? I have 18k miles on my WRX and I've yet to check either area. All help is appreciated.

Maintenance schedules can be found in your owner's manual or by logging onto my.subaru.com but I believe it is every 15k or 30k miles. As for how to do it, I can help you with that ...

How much does one expect to spend on 4 quarts of tranny fluid?

Frothed oil has both less viscosity and less ability to cool as it is essentially contaminated with air . Air is not nearly as good at thermal transfer as oil is . When I put in Redline Superlight Shockproof, I spent less than $40 on the 4 quarts. Something like regular Mobil gear oil will be dramatically less expensive however.
