Default 16" Wheels on an 09 WRX? (for Winter)

I'm being unusually forward thinking and shopping for winter rims and tires. For the tires I definitely want Blizzaks and preferably WS60's. I've shopped on Tire-Rack (using shop by vehicle) and it reccommends dropping to 16's for winter rims. Fair enough, didn't really want to wreck my Subie alloys anyway.

However, local Subie dealer says that 16's won't clear my calipers. Who's right, Tirerack or Dealer?

Tire Rack has yet to be wrong for me in 20 years of dealing with them.

there are LOTS and LOTS of 16" wheels that will fit your car just fine

you should consider your dealer and what they tell you with a great deal of

The Sport Edition 16 * 7 and 16 * 7 1/2 inch wheels sold by Tire Rack, for one example, positively fit both a 2008 WRX AND a 2009 WRX - I know, I have run them on my 2008 and 2009 WRXs. They are also light, hub-centric, under $100 and most people feel they look good too.

I believe the brake clearance and everything else related to wheel fitment is the exact same for a 2009 as for the 2008. And yes, you can trust Tire Rack.

Since the brakes under a 2004-2005, and the 08+ are the same size, no probs.

I run 16's in the winter.
