Default Wheels and tires for a 1996 impreza outback

The rims that I have on my car right now are 15's I believe and the tires are going to need replacing by spring of next year(2010). I am wanting to upgrade to 16" x 6 1/2 or 16" x 7. I am wanting a tire with good all around performance, slightly stiffer and a little better grip. I am also wanting to try to get ahold of 2 pot calipers for the front and leave the back at stock at 1 pot calipers.

All suggestions would be helpful, thanks

Not exactly a tire expert(you can ask someone at the tires store for that kind of opinion, they know best afterall) but if your looking for 16" wheels you can usually get a set of OEM 16" WRX wheels for quite cheap and they are very light. You can also go with the older OEM 16" 2.5 RS wheels. They are a good wheel and have a good 6 spoke design. As for the 2 pot calipers they sell them at the parts stores around here. My buddy bought some at Autozone. Hope that helps. Dan
