Stock exhaust?
Mine(non stock) does this when I had floored it then back off the gas rather quick. From what I understand it is unused gas hitting the Cat. The water coming out of the exhaust is from some kind of condensation I believe, a friend explained it before don't remember all of it though. Personally I don't worry about it to much. Buster |

In a sense, the water is condensation. Remember, all combustion reactions produce at least two things...Carbon Dioxide, and water. Water is normal.

I was told that the cat changes the unfriendly carbon monoxide to a more friendly water vapor(condensation). Or something like that. It is normal.

When the pipes heat up they cause condensation. This is then pushed out of the back of the car by the presser of the exhaust.
Its normal and will happen with all cars. The Cat only takes unused gass and burns it so that your exhaust is cleaner. No magic water tricks ![]() |

Ahh yes the mystery of Subaru!!
Mine backfires in 1st 2nd 3rd, and sometimes forth, and I like it. You're right from what I've heard... Raw fuel through the system hitting the hot exhaust results in a pop. Due to the system running rich. Steve |
