He looks very promising, but I still can't beleive that Toro Roso decided to bring him in mid-season. Bourdais must have seriously made these people mad! The Hungaroring is one of my favorite courses to watch, mid-speed but continually in a corner.

Has McLaren packed it in for the year? I haven't seen an ounce of competitiveness from them since early on.

I am enjoying the Brawn/Red Bull battle at the top though. Makes you wonder how much success lies in the car, or in the driver.

According to F1.com. Both Ferrari and McLaren Mercedes have developed new aero packages and power upgrades to help them with this race. I hope that the "top team", including Ferrari, Mercedea, BMW ect, bringthe competition back to Brawn/Red Bull this season. It would make for an exciting second half of the year!

Hamilton was pretty quick in Germany. Hard to tell how the race would have panned out for him without the first corner puncture.

I read on the BBC that they thought they would bring the new dude in to get some time in the car, as he cant drive/test away from the circuits with the in season testing ban.

It does say a lot about how the team felt about Bourdais if the alternative was to put a guy in the car who's never actually driven a Formula One machine on a race track...

Thumbs down Alguersuari

The young man's name is Alguersuari, and I read he is bringing a boat load of Repco money with him.

I'd have to agree with some of the F1 drivers who have spoken publicly about Toro Rosso putting Alguersuari in the car. We've all seen that an F1 machine is extremely challenging car to drive competitively. Some otherwise very talented drivers who have not come to full terms with the technology. And we've seen others who have suffered a long learning curve. For young Mr. Alguersuari to be tossed into a race with out having tested an F1 car appears to be foolish, if not disrespectful to the F1 drivers who paid their dues elsewhere before hopping into a F1 seat.

In addition it appears that Mr. Tost is risking Mr. Alguersuari's racing career, as people in F1 are quick to judge that a driver is too slow. I fear that Alguersuari is not likely to be provided the time needed to learn an F1 machine well.

I hope I'm wrong about Mr. Tost, Toro Rosso, and Mr. Alguersuari.

Although, it does concern me that Mr. Alguersuari is not the most sparkling junior formula driver around at the moment. In the 3.5 Formula Renault, he's grabbing a few points, but it's pretty tough competition in that series against some very good young talent (many up out of F3 after doing well there), and they are stepping on Alguersuari's toes there. He's picking a few points, but he's not lighting up the world.

F1 is certainly not going to be an easier environment than F. Renault.

Have a Nice Day? Here's my sorry picks!

After starting the season running toward the front of the pack, I've been consistently sucking a lot of wind at the back of the pack, race after race, since then. Of course this is a rough crowd, with some folks doing really well, so that makes my mediocrity shine brightly!

My picks for Hungary:
  1. Button
  2. Vettel
  3. Webber
  4. Barrichello
  5. Massa
  6. Trulli
  7. Rosberg
  8. Alonso

Good to see that Massa was awake, with Surtee's accident and the spring going into the cockpit (reminded me of Senna's accident), I was getting really nervous.

With timing going down, the announcers did a good Top Gear impression (for example, whenever they do a budget 3 car test and don't like any of them), I thought it was pretty funny. The drivers also reminded me of being at an autocross and trying to find out what times others had done after the last run of the day. Button's reaction was hilarious too

That was a ****ing crazy qualifying session... but the conversation between Button and Alonso at the end was classic!

Button: "1:22.5"
Alonso: "1:21.5"
Button: "1:22.5"
Alonso: "No, I had 1:21.5"
Button: "****in' hell!"

Varsha: "We apologize for the language there"

Holy $hit! That spring really messed him up. Hope he's okay. If that spring had landed just a little further south into the visor, this incident could have been really ugly.

Felipe Massa will miss tomorrow's Hungarian Grand Prix after his accident during qualifying for the Hungarian Grand Prix.

Massa was hit by debris - believed to be a spring from another car- flying from the track in the dying moments of Q2.

The Brazilian appeared to lose consciousness as his car careered into the tyre wall at high speed. Massa was first taken to the medical centre and then airlifted to a Budapest hospital, where he was stable and conscious.

Pictures taken after the accident showed that Massa's helmet had been seriously damaged by the hit and that he was even bleeding.
Will they put Baoder or Gene in the car or simply run one car?
