Default Limited edition Porsche 911 Carrera Supersport in the works

Quote:
Porsche is coming up with a “very limited edition” 911 Carrera Supersport (possibly named Sport Classic in the US) to be bared next year. Released in 1984, the original Supersport was a regular 911 with some of the 911 Turbo model’s cosmetic and performance enhancements, such as the Turbo tail, suspension, and brakes. The 2010 model will take a current 2S model wearing the 4S widebody flanks, GT3-style front and rear bumpers, a double-bubble roof, and supposedly a ducktail spoiler reminiscent of the 2.7 RS. Powering the car is an engine boosted by Porsche’s factory powerkit increasing its top speed and horsepower. Brown leather will be the interior’s theme while wheels will be up-to-date variations on the classic Fuchs units. Pricing is estimated to be £135,000 ($220,000 U.S.).

Loved the original supersports in 85. Guards Red FTW!

This one sounds great as well, can't wait to see it.

They're having a tough time with sales - this seems like half-way to GT3 specs, perhaps cooler looking, and rare = higher priced and more sales?

$220K MUST be a typo...a Turbo starts at $130K! That must be some special BROWN leather...

911s have never been available in Guards Red, the color you're thinking of is India Red.

I thought the GT3 was the child of the Club Sport..."supersport" was just the M491 option package with Turbo fenders, suspension, brakes and wheels on a regular 3.2 Carrera. It wasn't that "super" as it added weight. The Club Sport on the other hand was a special car.

So it's a GT3 with GT3 RS flares....
