i have a 03 wrx 5 speed and it grinds going into 4th gear . i was wondering if the 04-06 wrx wagon tranny was stronger and what is a good price to pick one up for , thanks

Nah, not really any stronger.

If it grinds, what gear oil are you running? When was it last changed?

They upgraded the trans in 04+ WRXs. From talking to techs and I've everything I've read, they're good for 300+ AWHP. You could run more power, depending on how hard you drive your car. Tuners have told me that they know people that have run over 400 AWHP on an 02-03 WRX trans, but never launch or drop the clutch. WRX axles can snap at around 380WHP.

As far as price, try www.car-part.com.
