It has a VF 34, also a walbro fuel pump. It has whiteline flat out springs. Does the motor still sound like it is falling apart? If it does it is just the forged pistons in it. How much did he pay for it? PM me if you want to know anything else about it.

i believe it has a forged motor. it came into conti six months ago and was missing many bolts/demod stuff. make sure your buddy checks the brakes and lines, there were leaks and loose calipers. nice car though, just needs the 'ol accessport now!

Well, no ap for him. He didn't know what he bought until I opened the hood and noticed the perrin pipes and a turbo that said IHI on it. I had him buy a utec for it, putting it on tommorow I think. While I am doing that I'll be sure to check out everything that ya'll mentioned and let him know the deal. I don't think it has the forged motor in it anymore because the dealer said that the motor has less then 100 miles on it so I am thinking they either replaced it because it got blown up from test drives with no engine management or someone realized that it had a forged motor in it and yanked it for themselves, either way I will take some more pictures of it then for ya'll for memories sake. I promise it went to a good home and I'll make sure that my friend doesn't jack it up. Thanks for the input guys.

It also had a sixpuck clutch in there. Check with the dealer to see if they replaced the clutch also. It has stock gears so if the clutch is still there he better take it easy. Shawn never had any problems with the set up.

I already warned him about babying that tranny, but I'll have him check about the clutch. Thanks for the heads up!

I'm not very familiar with UTEC but how do you tune for an engine that you are unsure of the mods?

I would climb around that thing, write all the mods down and contact one of the tuning houses in the lower 48 to put together maps based on the ACTUAL mods list.

Hate to see something bust because it wasn't tuned.

Just my $.02

Figured it was a 34 because that is an extremely common upgrade, turboxs makes base maps and such to load onto the utec and just so happens they specifically make a map for a stage 4 car, all he needs is a turboback exhuast to complete the stage 4.

I think he said that he got it for 15,600 and if he did, quite the steal.

$15,600 is not a bad deal at all... I coulda swore I saw 18K or so.. but Im sure he talked them down.... not bad at all. I drove by the dealer last night and asked Jared if he saw the Blue scooby out there.. guess that's why we didn't see it

I'm pretty sure we have seen your GTI driving around as well.

This guy on FTWW? Tell him to lose the Japanese front plate.. lol

Hey whats up guys i did buy the car for 15,600 i definatly talked them down it was supposed to be 17,500 but i dont think they really new what they were selling. Having a little prob with check engine light on but im sure utec and some tunning will solve that. Yeah they threw out the forged motor but i am going to try and find and me and akturbogti are gonna part it out. Im having a problem with a oil leak coming from the bottom of the downpipeim not sure cant really get under there to see whats going on taking it to the shop tommorrow. Any ideas????
