SUBARU CANADA ANNOUNCES PRICING FOR 2010 IMPREZA LINEUP

July 17, 2009

Subaru Canada, Inc. (SCI) today announced pricing for its 2010 Impreza lineup. An exceptional combination of rally-bred performance, outstanding occupant protection, and value, Impreza has recently won industry accolades for all three qualities. Rated a Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, this generation of Impreza was also the top performer in the mid-compact category of the ALG Canadian Residual Value Awards, and the WRX was named the Best Sports Performance Car by Canada’s Motoring television program.

The 2010 Impreza, with all its power and safety, becomes an even better deal when it goes on sale in Canada in mid-July.
  • The affordable performance of the Impreza 2.5i sedan re-defines the concept of “entry level.” The Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) for the well-equipped Impreza 2.5i is unchanged for 2010 at $20,995 when equipped with the 5-speed manual transmission (5MT). With the 4-speed electronic automatic transmission with SPORTSHIFT, MSRP of the 2.5i sedan is $22,095. The Sport Package adds $3,700, and a new Limited Package with leather interior has an MSRP of $26,995.
  • MSRP for the Impreza 2.5i 5-door model starts at $21,895, equipped with the 5MT.
  • The new base model turbocharged Impreza WRX gains a 265 horsepower engine, suspension tuning, and carries a lower MSRP than the previous year’s WRX265 model at $32,495 for the sedan and $33,395 for the 5-door. A new Limited Package with leather interior adds $3,000 to the base price.
  • The Impreza flagship—the turbocharged WRX STI—is offered solely in the 5-door bodystyle with a 6-speed manual transmission and an MSRP of $39,995.
For complete information about model pricing, specifications, Subaru’s award-winning 2.5-litre turbo engine, Symmetrical full-time All-Wheel Drive, and the outstanding active and passive safety features that are built into every vehicle Subaru offers, please visit www.subaru.ca.

Nope, not for Canada anyways. You never know though, it doesn't look like Canada is getting the A-Line either

I just checked with my Dealer today.

The base impreza 2.5i gets a new grille. THEY FINALLY get rid of the chrome grille!

They pasted a NASTY AWD decal at the back of the car.

Side bodykit are more aggressive.

The Projectors are somewhat different.

The leather interior feels OK.. USB/ipod connectivity is on the premimum package.

The LOW-END audio system is still there......

The sport 2.5i with premimum package gets the 17" alloy as the 08 WRX.

The dealer didn't know what's on the 2010 STI yet.

That's all I know.

Any pixs of the new Impreza 2.5i grille, or the WRX with leather?

I know, but I bet we too get that grille. It's also been rumored that there may be a special package for our US-spec WRX. Might it include leather seating like the Canadian WRX? My guess is yes.

There's another general news release as well: Subaru Canada introduces 2010 Impreza 2.5i and WRX , which can be found at http://www.newswire.ca/en/releases/a.../17/c6939.html

Can't find anything yet on SCI or SOA websites, but we should be learning more soon.

US-Spec WRX should have the same leather option.

The grille is all made of black-plastic. Kind of similar to the 07 Acura RDX.

For reference, at today's exchange rates $33K CAD would be worth about $29.8K USD.

Nope. For 2009 they had 224 and 265 hp versions of the WRX, both with MT only. For 2010 it looks like the 224 hp model was dropped.

Wouldn't surprise me if that happens here as well. I have yet to see an '09 Impreza 2.5GT in person, on the road or at a dealer.

Shame - no STi sedan. Hmm, so now it's Legacy GT or Infiniti G37 for me... unless they do something to WRX sedan.

The hatch already has better structural integrity and aerodynamics than the sedan would.. so the only reason you'd want the sedan is because you want something to drive to work... or you're concerned about that extra 1% of curb weight. If that's the case, why not just get an '09 Spec-B?
