Default Breaking News: Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG Coupe Black Series in the works

Quote:
According to our sources from Mercedes-Benz we found out that the German manufacturer is currently preparing the E63 AMG Coupe Black Series. It appears that the new coupe is going to receive the same engine 6.2-liter V8 engine found on the C63 AMG capable to deliver around 500-525 hp. Like the SL65 AMG Black Series, the new vehicle based on the E-Class Coupe will be less comfortable than the standard version due to the weight reduction. Regarding the debut of the car this remains a mystery because the Mercedes-Benz tuning division is currently busy because is working at the SLS AMG and at the new E63 AMG Estate, but as soon as we will found out something we will let you know!

Saweeet!

I was hoping they would fit the new coupe with the 6.2. I've driven the 550 coupe and it was a blast with ~380Hp. With 500Hp goood god!!!!!!

Agree, but I just hope they don't get to Black happy and ruin the name. I thought 1 or 2 models were cool, but now it's 3 and who knows when 4 will come along...then it's not as special...

I think they're plan is just to do one Black model per year, or at a time. Started with the Euro-only SLK, then CLK, SL, now probably this. As long as they don't turn a bunch of models Black at a time, or make one suck, I think they're doing a good thing.

This is the new CLK, so no additional Black model.

They are just swapping names around. There is no CLK for next year.

Ya I get that, I work for MB. I'm just correcting what that guy said about not a new black model, when clearly it is.

How so? The CLK Black was an E-Class coupe, this is an E-Class coupe. It's not an additional Black model, just a different name.

I get that some people consider the CLK to be an E-class coupe, but looking at it from the chassis up, the 209(CLK) and 211(E-class) have no similarities. To be honest, I thought the 209 had more similarities with the old 203 Cclasses. The exterior and interior looked the same as a C-class. So, in my mind that's two different cars. And the CLK black was based off the CLK DTM safety car for the most part. Now, the new E-class coupe and sedan(chassis 207,212) is based off the new C-class (204) chassis. So how can it not be a new Black Series model? It's a totally different car!

I get from the names standpoint the E-class coupe is replacing the CLK series, but that in no way means it's not a new model. That's all I'm trying to get at.

They're both based on the C-Class platform and they're both positioned as the E-Class coupe. New yes, additional model no. It's just the CLK replacement.
