Default Quick oil opinion needed.

Hi guys, I have a 2002 WRX wagon. I know there are crap load of threads about what oil is bad and to stay away from Mobile 1 and such, but i have a question for everyone. I have been running mobile one synthetic 15w50 since i bought my car back in 2006. I was reading that mobile one is famous for blow-by and finding basically anyway out of the block it can. My question is, what oil would you recommend using to eliminate the blow-by and other seaping issues that mobile one has? Any info is appreciated.

I've been running Mobile-1 in every single car I have owned since 1987 and NEVER had a problem. Every Porsche out of the factory has Mobile-1 in the oil pan, as does the Corvette Z06 and new ZR1, so you'll be fine with what your're running.

And if you have blow-by issues, oil isn't your problem- it's your piston rings that need attention.

Are you having an oil loss issue with the 15w-50?

every engine is different! I dont care how much some cars that run m1 cost, if my uoa's come back saying ams out-performed m1 (which it did) Im not using it!
also car manufacturers don't always pick that absolute best motor oil for their cars, sometimes its which company will give them the best deal! Sure its good oil put there is always politics involved with big company's like that

Same here. I've had great UOA's with Amsoil.

Also wondering why your running a 15w50?
Even in Florida, a 50 weight is a bit heavy. An oil that heavy can starve the bearings of oil and increase bearing wear, or worse, result in a spun bearing...

i ran 15w50 due to the fact i was running my car at the track but since i have been in florida, i have ye to find a track worth driving to. so it all comes down to me just geting stuck in a rut i guess and not changing oil. I am having some oil loss issues with this oil, so I guess I will change it up and either run motul or amsoil next time, thanx guys this is exactly the kind of info i was looking for.
