For all the events in my region numbers have been provided (paper numbers you put on your windows) but this weekend is the state championship and they require SCCA sanction sized numbers. I don't have any, don't want to pay $60 for a set (and wouldn't be here by this weekend anyway), and don't know what I am going to do.
Have any opinions on DIY numbers? What materials? How to? Thanks!

Do you just draw numbers on the magnetic sheet?

Get a roll of magnetic material from a craft store and cut it up. It will take you 30 minutes and it will last 10 years.

Magnetic AC Vent Covers. Can be found at like Lowes and Home Depot. Use some black paint and paint the numbers on. I would suggest using blue tape on the edges to be safe.
Frost King 8"x15" I cut mine into 3 pieces of 8"x5". And painted one number on each. |

This is what we're doing... I totally forgot about it too... Glad I saw your post. If we have any of the magnetic sheets left over, I'll let you know.

There's some guy in the General forum with the same problem.
I'll agree with everyone else, but I'll add pictures. ![]() Go to Michaels (don't worry, it's not "Girly" if you're doing it for racing supplies). Buy the "Paint a mag" sheet of 1'x2' magnetic material & paint if you want. (I found 1 sheet per side of car if you're making 3 digits & class letters) Cut out. Done. ![]() ![]() |
