Default front left wheel squeaks during left turns, brakes also squeaking

I notice squeaking coming from the front left tire during left hand turns. I usually notice this when driving through my apt. complex with the window open at low speeds. I don't hear anything from the right side but this may be because there is no squeaking or I just can't hear it from the driver's seat. Also, the brakes squeak A LOT when low-medium pressure is applied. When I step on them pretty hard, they're quiet. My brakes suck pretty bad too, there isn't a whole lot of stopping power. When I changed a spare today I looked at the disc and the pad quickly and didn't see anything out of the ordinary. Looked like normal wear and tear to me. Whaddya think, just get it checked out by a mechanic or should I try to figure out the problem myself?

Sometimes its just build up of dust that causes the squeal or if your pads dont have anti squeal shims. Try blasting the dust out with the hose ( on cold rotors only please ). If that doesn't work get some shims fitted or buy some new pads with anti squeal shims fitted.

Alright, I'll try cleaning off the rotors. Anybody else have some suggestions?

Steve posted the most likely issue.

You mau also need to grease the studs the caliper slides on.

You already checked pads for wear and that is the only other thing I can think of.

Alrighty, maybe I'll just go ahead and buy new brake pads and see if that fixes the problem. What about the squeaking coming from the wheel on left turns? Suggestions?
