Fluid capacity question
Hi everyone
I checked in the owners manual and did some searching and I couldn't find an answer but its also possible I overlooked as well. I wanted to know how much fluid (quarts) I would need because I plan on changing them on a vehicle I just purchased (2005 WRX) 1. Brake Fluid 2. Transmission Fluid Thanks in advanced.

1. get at least 2 bottles (refering to oem, I think 354ml per bottle)
2. 3.7 quarts for the transmission, 0.8-1 qt for the rear differenatial |

Which trans? MT or AT??
The AT will need 2 different fluids, one is for the trans and the other is for the front diff. |

Also, the 3.7 quote is for the MT but that is assuming a rebuild and a completely dry gear box. When I did mine, I put in 3.375 qts in and I'm a nudge above the upper dot. I let it drain for about 1.5 hours with the rear tires about 4 inches off the ground so it was very empty.

I posted outa my ass by assuming he had a manual trans.... OP if you have automatic, use only subaru ATF if you want to have smooth shifting trans and no issues. |

Add about 3.1-3.2 qts and then check and do a little and check, little and check. You will NOT put a full 3.7 qts in the gear box....just a heads up.
