where does this O-ring go?

I was flushing my coolant yesterday, took off undercover and drain plug, that's it. Looked under my car after finishing up and found an o-ring, looked just over a half inch in diameter, and it's black. Any ideas on where this came from? (I'm thinking drain plug, maybe?)

Is it flat? Or is it a real "O" ring. IIRC, the one on the drain petcock is black rubber, and flat like a washer. It may not leak even with it off.

Manuals, Section 8, Page CO-9 shows a washer like thing or O ring in the diagram, so if you did not put one back on, that's probably what's shown on the page. It's shown but not identified or drawn very well.
