Default EcuFlash error message/can't read ecu.

This is for an 05' STi. I had it tuned couple years back by a tuner using open ecu/ecuflash. So today I tried to reload the stock map but I keep on running into the same error code when I tried to read the stock ecu. I tried reloading the stock map but that doesn't work either which I was not suprised. I've searched and done all the common mistakes such as loose connection, not turning on the ignition at the proper time, etc..

Here's the error message:

*Using interface OpenPort 1.3 Subaru
*TX46P7s11b6cb4d53c44cfald41cacc8774ccd7c4ee5e4cc
*SSM2 init
*SSM2ECU ID is 3D12 59 40 06
*Requesting Seed....
*interface close
*interface close

I did this more than 30 times with the same result. Could it be that I got the wrong cable from Tactrix?
Here's a pic of the cable. I highlighted the pins with white dots so it's easier to see.

The tuner has his own cable at the time and I'd bought mind over a year ago and had never used it until today.

Any help is appreciated.

My car only works if I do the "OK" and key turn in the opposite order that the EcuFlash tells me to. Try that and see what happens.

You mean turn the key towards you as oppose to the indirection of starting your engine? I will give that a try when I get my car back from the shop in a few weeks.
