Default Question on hesititation problem (02 RS)

Can anyone briefly describe the hesitation problem. (ive searched but not found exactly what im looking for). On occasion when just turning the car on (its a 4eat 02 RS), putting it into drive and lightly pressing the gas peddle it will just sit there and surge. Does this sound like the hesitation problem? It only happens occasionally so i seriously doubt i could get it doccumented at the dealer! argh!

thnx all

I would say, just by explanation, that you're experiencing a cold start. When your engine is cold, it will idle anywhere from 500 to 1000 rpms faster. When the engine warms up, you should idle around 500 rpms.

The hesitation issue that everyone has is mostly between the 3-4k rpm range. You'll know it if you have it.

yah definately no hesitation 3-4k rpm range but surge in power is definately annoying; so this can be attributed soley to a cold engine then i take it?

If that's all that is going on, then yes.. I believe it's because of the cold engine.

You migt want to try the SPG mod.. It won't hurt anything by doing this, and it only costs about $8. Some swear by it.
