Because I could?! That's mostly the reason. I also wanted the manifold area to look a little cleaner and this was one way to do it. It also allows me to reroute my fuel lines more how I want. A lot of guys do it when they go rotated as well.

that and it looks like it could be slightly tilted down . right now it looks like its pointing up and would interfere with the hood closing..

I need to trim the side leg that used to attach to the GBOD. It's hitting the fender tub. It's slotted and can adjust up and down. It fits with the hood closed. My engine is out right now so I sat in the engine bay and closed the hood.

I felt that the stock position of the rear view mirror was way too low on the windshield and felt that it took up A LOT of visual space. I asked on the forums if anyone knew of a part to fix it... and no one did. So... I made one today.

So, I scrounged around the garage for a minute and found in inch with piece of steel, about 1/8 thick, and 3 feet long. I took it to the grinder for around 15 minutes to get the one end to match up to the general shape of the silver stock piece. I test fitted it many a time, hot and cold, on the mirror.

Once I was please with the fit of the metal to the mirror, I went back to the car to see how much longer I wanted the new piece to be to raise the mirror. Got the measurement, cut the piece, drilled some holes (added two speed holes for performance), rounded all the edges, and painted it flat black.

Test drive.... no more shake than what the stock mirror had, which was close to none. It no longer feels like the mirror is mounted to my hat and I'm no longer paranoid of slamming my head into it when I get into my car.

Total time & cost: About an hour of lazy/slow work and cost a few beers.

Here be the pics. Hope you like! If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask.

^ Would have been cool if you extended it up to the map lights and put the sun up there.

I meant if you extended the "mural" up to the map lights and painted the sun there instead of between the vents.
